Kiwi lacrosse team has the
heart to succeed
Description: heart for
causes is proud to announce its partnership with the NZBLAX,
as the team prepares for the 2017 World Cup in Guildford,
England.
[Auckland] [4 October 2016] –
Specialist fundraising agency, heart for causes, is
delighted to announce its support for the New Zealand
Women’s Lacrosse team.
In July 2017, New Zealand
will compete against 30 other countries at the 2017 FIL
Women’s Lacrosse World Cup. This will be the 4th time New
Zealand will send a team to the senior world event, and this
time the team has the bold goal of making it into the Top
5.
Auckland-based heart for causes has
partnered with the NZBLAX to provide expertise in
copywriting and fundraising as the team works to secure
vital funds needed to get to the lacrosse
championship.
“We are delighted to be supporting
this group of elite Kiwi athletes as they get ready to take
on the world,” says head of content strategy,
Dominique Antarakis. “The NZBLAX are a dedicated group
of women with a bold goal to break into the Top 5 at the
World Cup in England. We admire their strength and
determination and want to support the team to reach this
landmark goal for New Zealand sport.”
Lacrosse is
still an amateur sport in New Zealand. The NZBLAX squad
stars 30 women aged 17-35, who all juggle full-time training
with study, work, family and fundraising.
It will cost
each team player approximately $10,000 to get to Guildford.
That is on top of equipment and expenses needed to be in the
training squad. Then there is the cost travel to participate
in warm-up competitions in Melbourne and California during
2016.
heart for causes is working with the team to
provide fundraising expertise as they face the daunting task
of funding all these costs. The full-service agency has
provided the team with copywriting, sponsorship tips and
fundraising workshops to upskill them individually and as a
team.
"Working with Dominique and the team has been
nothing short of fantastic,” says Kari Jones, World
Cup 2017 National Team Head Coach.
“Dominique, Anna
Shere and their team are always thinking ahead and have
helped us pull together the most professional approach to
fundraising that we have ever had.
“It has taken
a massive weight off us knowing that the team and the
parents can reach out for support in their fundraising
plan.”
Kiwis helping team get Guildford
The NZBLAX is hoping that kind Kiwis
will get behind them and support their bid to become Top 5
in the world. They have set up a Givealittle page to crowdsource some of
the funding. The team hopes that big-hearted Kiwis will open
their wallets and back this plucky team to help them put New
Zealand on the map.
Next stop on the NZBLAX road to the
World Cup is a tour to California in October. Our squad will
l be playing some of the top American college teams. Follow
the NZBLAX progress to the World Cup on Facebook and
