Don’t let this be the one that got away.

Rugby legend and Kiwis for kiwi patron, Sir Graham Henry, is being auctioned off on Trade Me for a day’s fishing like no other.

The fishing trip of a lifetime is being hosted by television fishing guru, Graeme Sinclair, to raise funds for Save Kiwi Month to help save kiwi from extinction.

Executive director of Kiwis for kiwi, Michelle Impey, said this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to not only catch a great fish but spend the day with two iconic Kiwis.

“Spending the day with two legends who not only love fishing but have a lot of great stories to tell must be any Kiwi bloke’s idea of a dream date. We are hoping to reel in a big bidder to really make Save Kiwi Month fundraising a huge success.”

The trip is scheduled for 26th November, departing Stillwater, Auckland and Graeme Sinclair will be using footage from the day in his Gone Fishin Show, airing in December. All gear and lunch will be provided on the boat and after a day of fishing and tall stories, the lucky bidder will be hosted by Graeme Sinclair for dinner.

This auction is to support Kiwis for kiwi, a national charity working to keep kiwi and their habitat safe. Every $100 raised is enough to protect a kiwi for an entire year.

Funds will go towards predator control, research and monitoring programmes, kiwi avoidance training for dogs and Operation Nest Egg. This programme involves removing vulnerable kiwi eggs and young chicks from the wild until they are able to be safely returned without risk of predation.
