Mainland Tactix Announce New Assistant Coach
27 November 2014
A move to Christchurch for family reasons has paid off for New Zealand Secondary Schools Netball coach Marianne Delaney-Hoshek, announced today as assistant coach of the Mainland Tactix.
Delaney-Hoshek will work alongside new head coach Sue Hawkins for the 2015 ANZ Championship season at the Tactix after three years in Wellington as assistant coach of the Central Pulse.
Netball Mainland CEO Brigit Hearn says they’re thrilled to have secured one of New Zealand’s up and coming elite coaches.
“Marianne comes to us with a wealth of experience and we are delighted she has been targeted by Netball New Zealand to be a part of their High Performance Coaching programme.
“We are excited about the pairing of Marianne and Sue (Hawkins) and can’t wait for the Tactix team and management to get together early December to start pre-season training,” she said.
Head coach Sue Hawkins is equally enthusiastic about Marianne’s appointment.
“Marianne’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious, her coaching skills and knowledge is vital for the Tactix moving forward and I am delighted to be working with her,” she said.
For Delaney-Hoshek, the move south from Wellington is returning to home, and she’s excited by the opportunity to work together with Sue Hawkins and the talented team of Tactix players.
“I am really excited to be coaching alongside one of the world’s best coaches in Sue Hawkins and I believe that Netball Mainland have recruited a very strong group of players for us to work together with.”
