Kiwis Called Upon To Do More For All Blacks   1 Aug 2014

New Zealanders given unique opportunity to star in film

Auckland, New Zealand: Kiwis love their country. We love sport. We love life and want to devour all that it brings. New Zealanders maximize every moment, committing to those things that move us and pursuing our passions with an unrelenting hunger. We are doers. And now New Zealanders are being given the unprecedented opportunity to do more for the All Blacks and star in their own film.

Designed to support the All Blacks in a very Kiwi way as they take on the challenges that the remainder of 2014, and 2015 will bring. Do More will be a production with a difference. It will be written by, directed by and starring everyday New Zealanders.

‘What we do in the Shadows’ and ‘Boy’ director, Taika Waititi, is taking on this unique project. Over the next year, the award-winning director will curate a piece of work that will showcase how New Zealanders do more for themselves, and others, daily.

Kiwis based locally and around the world, are encouraged to film a 60 or 90-second video demonstrating the extra efforts they go to in their everyday lives. Inspiring, humorous, surprising or out of the ordinary – the best entries will be selected and turned into something very special and inherently Kiwi.

“We’re looking for videos that demonstrate the extra effort people go to that really shows the Kiwi spirit. The options are endless and that’s the really exciting thing about this project. I have no idea what people are going to send in. We want to hear the stories of the ridiculously early mornings and the late nights. It could be that extra lap they take around the Auckland Basin, taking food to the elderly home in Lower Hutt or peddling up the Port Hills, it’s all about the extra effort,” says Taika.

Working alongside the All Blacks and fan-favourite Dan Carter, the project relies on Kiwis coming together to contribute the footage. “We know that Kiwis are patriotic and passionate when it comes to supporting the All Blacks – and we want to see that passion on camera,” says Dan.

“We want this to be something that Kiwis can not only be part of, but be proud of. This is a chance to, potentially, involve the whole country and create something very memorable in the support of the All Blacks.” he adds.

The title Do More is part of a wider campaign delivered by Rexona which aims to bring to life the support our country provides the All Blacks. From midday, Saturday 2 August 2014, New Zealanders will be encouraged to upload their do more stories to www.rexona.co.nz where they’ll be curated and managed by Taika and his team and overseen by the watchful eye of Dan Carter.
