BITE. TOGETHER. STRONGER. CHANGE LIVES
SKYCITY Breakers and Carl’s Jr. have teamed up to support Graeme Dingle Foundation at this Sunday’s special community round (November 6th at 3pm) where the boys will take on the Brisbane Bullets at Vector Arena.
Graeme Dingle Foundation Co-founder, Graeme Dingle, says “Both the SKYCITY Breakers and Carl’s Jr. are long term supporters of the Graeme Dingle Foundation and it’s only with the dedication and commitment of companies such as these, that we are able to reach so many young kiwis with our programmes”.
During the game you’ll also be invited to take part in a bit of a FUNraiser.
“Depending on which side of the Arena you’re sitting on you will be asked to text CHANGE or LIVES to 4847, and every text is a $3 donation to our Foundation. Each text will take a small bite out of the burger on the big screen on your side. The first side to ‘eat’ the burger will receive a FREE California Classic Double Cheeseburger thanks to Carls Jr.,” added Graeme.
SKYCITY Breakers General Manager Dillon Boucher says the club is proud of its association with the Graeme Dingle Foundation.
“So many of the values of the Graeme Dingle Foundation align perfectly with those of the SKYCITY Breakers. It is through basketball that we as a club are trying to influence and have a positive impact on young lives. By partnering with the Graeme Dingle Foundation we are able to see firsthand what that work can achieve, and play our part in helping the wonderful work of the Foundation.
“It is great to work with Carl’s Jr. in our Community Round this weekend to highlight the ongoing work the Foundation is doing, and to help raise much needed funds to assist them in reaching yet more young Kiwis and make a difference in their lives. We hope there is a huge crowd on Sunday afternoon at Vector Arena; the 3pm tipoff is perfect for families, let’s see what we can do with our fundraising efforts during the game.”
Graeme Dingle Foundation Project K graduate Ryan Dernie will present the ball to the players for tip off.
Ryan, a committed SKYCITY Breakers fan, said he was super excited to have the opportunity after being surprised with the news by SKYCITY Breakers players at the Foundation’s recent Excellence Awards ceremony.

The well-being of New Zealand’s young people is at the heart of the Graeme Dingle Foundation. We run sequential learning and mentoring programmes for young people aged five – 18 years. Through our programmes children and youth develop life-skills, confidence, and are empowered to find purpose and direction.
So come on and enjoy the SKYCITY Breakers experience while helping transform young lives forever.
BITE. TOGETHER. STRONGER. CHANGE LIVES.

About the Graeme Dingle Foundation
• The Graeme Dingle Foundation is the new name for the Foundation for Youth Development (FYD). The highly-successful youth charity was renamed in recognition of Kiwi adventurer and personality Graeme Dingle who founded the not-for-profit organisation with his partner Jo-anne Wilkinson in 1995.
• While the charity has a new name, its people, programmes and purpose remain the same.
• Twenty one years ago, Graeme Dingle and Jo-anne Wilkinson had a vision to improve New Zealand's negative youth statistics. They have helped nearly 200,000* young Kiwis be more confident, find purpose and direction, and achieve success.
• The Graeme Dingle Foundation continues to run school-based programmes for thousands of Kiwis ages between 5 and 18 – Kiwi Can, Stars, Career Navigator and Project K, along with MYND (an Auckland based programme for youth offenders). These initiatives aim to broaden horizons, offer opportunities and give young people the chance to become the next generation of successful parents, leaders and business people.
