Colin Munro capped a blockbusting year at domestic and international season by being named Auckland Cricketer of the Year last night.

Munro was the top run scorer in the Georgie Pie Super Smash and led the Mondiale Aces batting superbly throughout the competition. He then added another Ford Trophy hundred to his name before stepping up to Blackcaps level where he blazed the fastest ever T20 fifty by a New Zealander, in the process stealing the half hour old record off his Aces teammate Martin Guptill.

His contribution in the second half of the season for the Blackcaps was impressive and proved what all Auckland fans already knew – that he is a cricketer of huge talent, and one of the most exciting players in the world to watch.

His Blackcaps teammate Martin Guptill took out the International Cricketer of the Year award on the back of another season of scintillating form in white ball cricket.

Cornwall pair Tarun Nethula and Michael Guptill-Bunce took out the Men's Bowling and Batting awards respectively after standout seasons. Nethula claimed 60 wickets across the season, including 39 in the Plunket Shield to help the Mondiale Aces to Plunket Shield glory. Similarly Guptill-Bunce was a a vital part of the Aces success as he piled on the runs at the top of the order on his way to a total of 859 for the four day competition.

Katie Perkins capped a momentous season where she recorded her debut one day hundred and averaged 53 to claim the Women's Batting Award, and Roz McNeill was named Women's Bowler of the Year on the back of grabbing 16 wickets in the one day competition as the Hearts claimed back to back one day titles.

It was also a successful night for the O'Donnell family as Mark O'Donnell was named Representative Coach of the Year for his double title success with the Mondiale Aces, and son Robbie was named Young Cricketer of the Year for a season where he scored over 1000 runs across the three competitions and posted his maiden first class hundred.
