Silver Ferns to Face Australia in October

Netball New Zealand (NNZ) is pleased to confirm the dates, venues and locations for the New World Netball Series for the Constellation Cup between the Silver Ferns and the Australian Diamonds.

The Silver Ferns will play four test matches in the Series against the world’s number one ranked side, two in New Zealand and two in Australia in October.

New World Netball Series for the Constellation Cup

Silver Ferns v Australia
Date: Tuesday 20 October
Venue: Horncastle Arena, Christchurch

Date: Thursday 22 October
Venue: Vector Arena, Auckland

Australia v Silver Ferns
Date: Sunday 25 October
Location: TBC, Australia

Date: Friday 30 October
Location: Perth Arena, Perth, Australia

Christchurch’s Horncastle Arena will host the opening game, the first time since September 2012 that the South Island city has hosted a test match. The teams will then fly to Auckland for the second game at Vector Arena on Thursday 22 October.

NNZ Chief Executive Hilary Poole says the annual Constellation Cup matches are always hotly contested and 2015 will be no exception.

“These four matches are a highlight of the international Netball season for many of us,” she said.

“This year the Constellation Cup is just eight weeks after the Netball World Cup, so it’s a great opportunity for New Zealand Netball fans to see two of the world’s best teams in action.”

“We are thrilled to be able to take the Silver Ferns back to Christchurch and I know the people of Canterbury will turn out in force to support the team.”
