Haier Pulse to Begin 2015 With Toughest Trip of All   2 Sep 2014

The Haier Pulse will once again face the reigning champions in the first round of the ANZ Championship, with a trip to Melbourne to take on the Vixens on 1 March. The only other trip across the ditch in the regular season comes in the final round, when the team will travel to Adelaide to play the 2013 champions the Thunderbirds.

With seven home games in 2015, three venues will play host to the Haier Pulse, with Wellington’s TSB Arena set to stage four consecutive fixtures in late March and April. Two games are scheduled for Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua, while the Steel will visit Arena Manawatu for the final home game on 17 May.

Fittingly, the team will face Australian opponents during ANZAC weekend when they play the NSW Swifts at the TSB Arena, as part of Wellington’s WW1 100 years commemorations.

Haier Pulse Head Coach Robyn Broughton is pleased with draw, but doesn’t underestimate the challenge of opening the new season against the 2014 winners on their home court. “The first game against the Vixens is a hard one and starting and finishing with a game away in Australia is a challenge,” she explained.

“It’s good we have a bye in the middle and a game in between the two games against the Steel, of course, it’s also very dependent on the people who come along to our games and the venue.

“The support at our home games is always outstanding and I’m certainly looking forward to seeing all our supporters at the 2015 ANZ Championship games next season,” added Robyn.

There is always a tremendous demand for tickets to Haier Pulse home games, and Season Tickets go on sale in September, ensuring entry for supporters to the games at the TSB and Te Rauparaha arenas.
