Auckland Motorcycle Club: Grand Final time

Hampton Downs in the North Waikato is the place to be this Sunday, as the Auckland Motorcycle Club Series for the summer culminates in the Round Six grand finale.

Following the National Championships concluding at Manfeild last weekend, it’s the last hit-out for the Club season – and a number of AMCC Series titles hang in the balance.

Not the least of these is Superlite. A solitary point separates National class competitors Doug Stockwell and Gavin Veltmeyer, in the category that has proven the most competitive of the AMCC Series over the summer.

Auckland Motorcycle Club has been well represented in the National Championships, with Stockwell finishing second in ProTwin 650, whilst Veltmeyer took third in the Superlite Championship. Fellow AMCC members Nigel Lennox and Ben Rosendaal also finished in the Superlite Top 10 - sixth and tenth respectively.

125GP regular James Jarman finished third in the National Championship for that class, and in the premier categories Toby Summers took a pair of race victories on his way to second overall in F2.

Whilst in F1, Jaden Hassan scored his maiden National F1 race win, on his way to fourth overall in the F1 title chase.

There is no respite just yet however, and Sunday will have the final Round of the ultra-competitive Hyosung Cup, along with the Series deciding races across all AMCC classes from ProLite to Formula Auckland (F1), and everything in-between.

237 - John Houben
151 - Brendan Holland
150 - Jaden Hassan

243 - Toby Summers

The grand final has practice starting at 8:30, and racing commencing at 11:00.

Spectators: Adult $12, AMCC Member $10 (with membership card),
Family Pass $25 (2 adults & 2 children), additional child $5 each, under 12 free if accompanied.
On-site catering will be present.

The 2013-2014 Series is being organised and promoted by the Auckland Motorcycle Club, who would like to acknowledge the valuable support of Red Baron Motorcycles, Motomail, and Bikesport Ltd.
