Lighthouse Children's Day 2016 set to be bigger and better than ever
(PR.co.nz) Auckland’s premier Children’s Day event will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of April 2016 at the ASB Showgrounds, in Greenlane. From 9:30m – 5:30pm, this free entry event hosted by Lighthouse at-home, will leave children and their families entertained all day long.
Previously a one-day event, Children’s Day has experienced substantial growth and success over the past three years. As a result, Children’s Day will be a two-day event this year with an expected 50,000 people will set to attend Children’s Day over the weekend.
The event is both indoors and outdoors boasting a huge variety of family friendly activities, rides, performances and stalls! Among the attractions at Children’s Day is free popcorn and candyfloss, live shows, free rides (as well as paid ones), a free petting zoo, pony rides, a treasure hunt, plenty of competitions and giveaways and more. For the full list of attractions visit http://www.childrensday.co.nz.
“Children’s Day is about bringing the community together. While our main focus is giving children a day filled with fun and excitement, we endeavour to make it entertaining for the parents too. Over the last few years we’ve witnessed first-hand the joy and happiness that Children’s Day brings, as families bond and new friendships are made between children and adults alike.” Says event manager, Vivian Wang.
Children’s Day was created because there are very few forums and places in Auckland for children to go where they can really celebrate being a child and have a day with their family for a minimal cost. This will be Lighthouse at-home’s third time hosting Children’s Day and it is expected by many to be the best one yet.
Lighthouse at-home is a home based early childcare service that firmly believes quality early childhood education should be affordable for everyone. The company’s passion towards childcare is evident with their organisation of free events such as Children’s day for families to enjoy.
