Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori announces $2.4 million in Maori language funding

Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori is pleased to announce that it will soon distribute $2,439,524.00 of Ma te Reo funding to 85 successful applicants.

Every year, Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Maori distributes Maori language community funding to whanau, hapu, iwi and other groups across the country. Today’s announcement is for the 2014/2015 funding round.

‘We’re pleased to support a diverse range of projects in the following categories:
• Wananga Reo (43)
• Language Planning (8)
• Kura Reo a-Iwi (5)
• Events/Promotions (18)
• Language Resources (13),’

says Acting CE Dr Poia Rewi. ‘We’re always encouraged by the high calibre of applications received.’
