NZSE celebrates a decade of transforming lives

Auckland, New Zealand – Celebrating its 10 year anniversary this December, New Zealand School of Education (NZSE) has been committed to providing alternative tertiary education opportunities for Kiwis and international students to help them transform their lives through the power of learning.

NZSE’s key differentiator is its focus on giving second chance learners an opportunity to embrace an exciting tertiary educational experience.

“No matter what their life experience, NZSE is here to ensure that every student is equipped with the necessary qualifications and provide them with a steady launch pad should they choose to pursue their degree or go out into the working world,” said Brijesh Sethi, Managing Director of NZSE.

“We have always been passionate about taking in second chance learners or those that may that have fallen through the cracks in the school education system. We take great pride in transforming the lives of these students and will continue to keep doing so.

“Our aim is not to churn out graduates but to give everyone individualised attention to help them discover their potential and this is done through small classes, strong student support and practical based programmes,” continued Brijesh.

Vodafone Warriors star player, Ben Henry, learnt quickly that playing professional league will not last forever and that it was important to get a tertiary education under his belt. NZSE provided him with the flexibility to be able to realise his educational goals.

“Through school, my favourite subjects were computer studies, engineering and PE. When I joined the Vodafone Junior Warriors and league turned into my career, I kept it top of mind that playing professionally will not last forever,” recounts Ben.

“I spoke to one of my friends who was studying Computer Studies at NZSE, and decided to find out a bit more about it – as well as how I could fit it around training and games, which is vital to any decision I make.

Ben has since finished the first part of the Computer Studies course at NZSE and will return in the first semester of 2015 to continue his education.

“IT is a growing industry and one I firmly believe will continue to grow in importance. I feel that the course will really help me gain a job post-footy. I can’t put all my eggs in one basket, and that is my motivation,” Ben concluded.

Over the years, NZSE has made a name for itself in providing quality educational experiences and has managed to build strategic academic partnerships with universities and polytechnics such as AUT, Unitec, Massey and Southern Cross University in Australia amongst many others which means their graduates have direct pathways into degree programmes.

Looking to the future, NZSE’s focus is to continue building and strengthening its relationship with both tertiary and industry partners and growing its presence both in New Zealand and in export education within strategic markets such as India and China.

“We have a very exciting journey ahead of us. Being a private institution, we are nimble and can easily convert our training to suit industry needs which gives us good standing in the industry compared to some of the more traditional academically-driven institutions,” said Brijesh.

“New Zealand has made enormous strides in its education system and with its export education policy, we are thrilled to be bringing this into India and China. This has immense growth opportunities for us, as well as the education sector,” he concluded.
