You're invited to Unitec's Costume & PDM showcase


A reminder that Unitec's Costume and Production, Design & Management exhibition showcase opens tonight from 6pm - 8pm at the Unitec Dance Studios, Carrington Rd, Mt Albert... all welcome, free entry. The exhibition continues Wednesday and Thursday this week from 9:30am - 4:30pm.

We invite you to view this year's work for film, theatre and dance, as well as a personal project set in 1914, by students studying costume, performance technology and art direction at Unitec. This is an opportunity for school leavers to explore careers in entertainment technology and see first hand, work produced by the next generation of emerging talent in the behind-the-scenes industries at New Zealand's biggest performing and screen arts school.

Coming in December 2014 - SEWING BASICS SUMMER WORKSHOPS

Following our successful Winter Sewing Basics Workshops in July 2014, the Unitec Department of Performing and Screen Arts is pleased to announce our Summer Sewing Basics Workshops in December 2014. Geared towards enrolment for Unitec's three-year Costume Design & Management degree, these workshops are suitable for high school leavers or anyone with an interest in working behind the scenes in stage, film, television, fashion and costume. The workshops focus on basic sewing techniques and industrial sewing machine operation and maintenance. You will get an introduction to the Costume course and learn from highly skilled tutors who have over 30 years experience working in the fashion industry.

Places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment. First come, first served.

Dates: 8-11 December and 15-18 December 2014
Venue: Unitec Costume room, Building 6, Entry 1, Carrington Rd, Mt Albert, Auckland
Cost: $300 - 4 days (includes materials).
Participants must be 17 years of over (max 7 per workshop)
