New Zealand comedy special holds key to Clinton victory

A Young Lover will help Hillary Clinton become President. That’s the “rational and watertight case-study” presented by New Zealand’s own Richard Meros, B.A. in the new VOD comedy special, On the Conditions and Possibilities of Hillary Clinton Taking Me as Her Young Lover.

Available now on streaming service Vimeo, the delightfully earnest Kiwi academic (played by writer/actor Arthur Meek) must charm his way past US customs and border security, played by Geraldine Brophy (King Kong, The Waterhorse, Shortland Street, Dancing with the Stars) and Bree Peters (The Weight of Elephants, Shortland Street). Meros hilariously outlines exactly why Hillary needs a Young Lover to become “America’s Next Top Momma” and how he’s the one person on the planet manifestly destined for the job.

Meros’ mission began life as a stage show, hailed as ‘demented’ by New York Magazine when it premiered in the Big Apple last year. It received rave reviews at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe in Scotland - where one 5-star review described it as ‘politics, sex and the generational divide in one of the smartest pieces of writing at this year's Fringe.’ (Fest Mag)

“Despite his best efforts, Meros has so far failed to alert Hillary to the amorous Ace she needs to play to defeat Trump,” says Meek. “Only one option remains: the silver screen."

Meros’ cause grabbed the attention of legendary director, and fellow Wellingtonian, Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, King Kong) who to put his equipment and post-production facilities at Meek and director Dean Hewison’s disposal.

“Thanks to Jackson, Meros' romantic efforts take on a whole new dimension,” says Hewison (How to Meet Girls from a Distance, and a 48 Hours and Make My Movie winner). "It was pretty hard to keep a straight face on set."
