Marlon Williams and The Yarra Benders perform on Conan and announce North American Tour!
Marlon Williams continues his international rise with his debut US TV performance onConan overnight backed by his band The Yarra Benders.
Williams received huge praise from the legendary US comedian after the performance, O’Brien telling him “come back any time, I’m a huge fan”.
This performance comes off the back of Williams’s recent appearance on Later…with Jools Holland in the UK, and the Late Late Show in Ireland.
Williams has also announced a huge North American tour for September/October, which includes Austin City Limits Festival and headline shows at legendary venues like The Troubadour and Bowery Ballroom. He will also be joined by Sydney indie-folk act Julia Jacklin for all headline shows.
He also returns to Australia briefly in July for the Sunday at Splendour In The Grass, alongside Longitude and Latitude Festivals in the UK.
It has been a mammoth 12 months for the New Zealand native, winning Best Male and Breakthrough Artist at the New Zealand Music Awards, picking up nominations for the ARIA’s, AMP and Taite Music Prize, and touring the world several times over, building a loyal global fan base and picking up love from tastemakers like NPR, KEXP, KCRW, 3voor12, BBC6, Jools Holland and now Conan.
Williams will also be on the big screen for the first time this year, when he features in Kiwi film The Rehearsal, which will premiere at the New Zealand International Film Festival.
