Support acts announced for nationwide tour
Flume’s epic new album SKIN has debuted at Number 1 on the New Zealand Top 40 Album Chart, matching its debut in the Australian chart.
The album’s two hit singles, Double Platinum ‘Say It’ feat. Tove Lo and latest Gold seller‘Never Be Like You’ feat. Kai, continue to dominate the NZ Top 10 Singles chart, where they sit at #9 and #4 respectively.
Flume is proud to announce support from Perth’s HWLS and NZ’s MAALA to the New Zealand leg of his world tour. Harley Streten announced the supports for New Zealand today by saying - “every time I have been out to NZ it’s been crazy. Laneway was a lot of fun earlier in the year and I can't wait to play NZ as my first headline Flume shows for 2016".
Flume’s world tour has already sold
an incredible 225,000 tickets to date, with
tickets for the New Zealand shows selling fast.
HWLS is the production project of Justin Elwin; from bass-heavy club music to hip hop, grime to post-trap Elwin has previously performed alongside Hudson Mohawke, Lido and Sophie, with his studio work including remixes for Hermitude, Salute, Tokimonsta and original material including the recent ‘Plays’ featuring Ty Dolla $ign borne out of Adidas' ‘Songs from Scratch’ project. With DJ support duties on regular collaborator Ta-ku's forthcoming US tour and Flume's forthcoming NZ and US tours, HWLS will treat audiences to an onslaught of new material ready to roll out over the coming months.
Auckland’s
MAALA debuted on SoundCloud in March 2015
with ‘Touch’ and the song’s minimal
electro majesty quickly picked up listeners and interest on
a global scale that was followed by ‘In The
Air’ and a debut EP. Clocking in with an excess
of 3 million digital plays, MAALA has
featured in Australia’s celebrated Triple J’s Hottest
100, had two world premieres from Zane Lowe on Apple Music
Beats 1, and graced the airwaves of New Zealand’s
alternative, dance and pop radio stations. Brand new single
‘Kind of Love’ is a taster for an album
scheduled to drop in just a few weeks. After recent shows in
Leeds, London, New York and LA, Evan Sinton is excited to
bring his brand of electronic pop to NZ audiences as opening
act for Flume’s NZ shows.
Flume’s global smash ‘Never Be Like You’ is Triple Platinum in Australia and Double Platinum in New Zealand. It peaked at #2 on the NZ Top 40 singles chart, is #33 on the Global Spotify Charts and is still rising to the cusp of the top 20 on US Top 40 radio.
‘Say It’ feat. Tove Lo is rocketing on the same trajectory. The single was added to the A-list on Radio 1 in the UK, quickly went Gold in New Zealand and is #4 on Spotify’s Australian Top 50.
