TAB and Burger King bring the Storm of the PDC World Series of Darts to Auckland
From its humble beginnings to the worldwide phenomenon that’s taken the sporting world by storm; the hotly contested Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) World Series of Darts event, the Auckland Darts Masters presented by TAB and Burger King is set to light up Auckland’s Trusts Arena from June 17-19.
Following on from the huge success of
last year’s inaugural Auckland Darts Masters, fans are
fired up and ready to see the world’s best take on our top
Oceanic players in the intensive three day
competition
.
Two-time World Champion Adrian
“Jackpot” Lewis is looking forward to returning to
Auckland for this year’s tournament to defend his title,
“Auckland was fantastic last year and the crowd was just
as vocal as any you’d experience in the UK, Holland or
Germany. In any new country or new tournament, you want your
name on that trophy straight away and to do that was a
brilliant achievement - and I’ll be back fighting to win
it again this year.”
The Auckland event follows on from last month’s Dubai Darts Masters, with further events to be held in Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney and Perth. Heading back to defend his 2015 title, Lewis faces a tough battle as he’ll be taking on top international rivals including World Champion Gary "The Flying Scotsman" Anderson, legendary 16-time World Champion Phil "The Power" Taylor and current world number one, "Mighty" Michael van Gerwen.
Standout player Peter "Snakebite" Wright, and multiple major winner James "The Machine" Wade, as well as five-time World Champion Raymond “Barney” van Barneveld and the fast-emerging Dave “Chizzy” Chisnall are also set to be in action in Auckland.
The eight Oceanic qualifiers include top kiwi players Warren Parry, Cody Harris and Rob Szabo, who will also get their chance to compete in Auckland as they rub shoulders with some of the biggest names to ever throw a dart.
The Auckland Darts Masters presented by TAB and Burger King kicks off on Friday June 17 with the first round, as the eight PDC stars face off against the Oceanic qualifiers. The quarter-finals take place on Saturday June 18 before the tournament concludes with the semi-finals and final on Sunday June 19 - which was held last year before a packed crowd at the Trusts Arena.
Tickets available now from Eventfinder.co.nz
R18 EVENT - for the safe enjoyment of everyone the venue has elected to make this an R18 event.
