All the Favourites Scheduled for Teretonga
A unified V8 Series with big name drivers, ENZED Central Muscle Cars, NZ Super Trucks, the internationally recognised Toyota Racing Series plus the Evolution Motorsport Classic SpeedFest are the highlights of the upcoming season at Teretonga Park.
One of the most exciting features for even casual motorsport fans will be the annual premier summer motorsport meeting over the weekend of 23/24 January. With the unification of the V8 SuperTourers and NZV8 Touring Cars the V8 action will be the best for several seasons. The first appearance of the ENZED Central Muscle Cars at Teretonga with their big, noisy, grunty machinery has long been anticipated and the NZ Super Trucks are a firm favourite of Southlanders. Add the international stars of the Toyota Racing Series and it is the biggest motorsport spectacle at the circuit for several seasons. The Toyota 86 Series, Formula Ford and possibly the UDC V8 Utes complete the bill.
The other feature event of the season takes to the track over the weekend of 20/21 February. The Evolution Motorsport Classic Speedfest always brings superb machinery to Teretonga and this season will be no exception. Expect to see Classic Saloons, Historic Touring Cars, Sports Cars, Racing Cars, Vintage Cars, Pre 65 Saloons, Mainland Muscle Cars and the Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons.
Before these mid summer meetings there is plenty of other great action. The season commences with the traditional two day event over the weekend of 19/20 September. The Saturday of the weekend will see the opening rounds of the ASKO Appliances 1 Hour and 3 Hour Endurance races. Cars such as Inky Tulloch's GT3 Sareni Camaro plus machinery as exciting and diverse as an Audi R8 LMS GT3 Ultra, Porsche GT3's, a V8 Supercar Falcon and a GT3 Ferrari mean this has become a truly exotic series. The following day Pro 7 Saloons, Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons and Sports & Racing Cars will entertain in a race meeting presented by Downer.
Next up, on Sunday 1 November, an InterClub Challenge along with Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons and Sports & Racing Cars takes to the track.
The pre-Christmas meeting presented by Downer, held this year on 5/6 December, has become a very popular one over the past few seasons as many of the South Island's best classes assemble. This year the line up includes OSCA/Sport Saloons, NZ Six Saloons, South Island Formula Ford, Pro 7 Saloons, Mini 7 South, Sports & Racing Cars and the Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans Saloons.
After Christmas the
two big feature meetings take place and then the season
concludes on Sunday 20 March with NZ Six Saloons, Sports &
Racing Cars, Pre 65 Saloons, Noel McIntyre Drainage Clubmans
Saloons and the A1 Auto Services 1 Hour Enduro.
