The Feelers to headline Canterbury A&P Show

Legendary New Zealand band The Feelers, has been announced as the headline act for the 2015 Canterbury A&P Show ahead of tickets going on sale on 1 September.

Show Visitors will be treated to a host of New Zealand’s most iconic songs on Show Day (Friday 13 November) when the famous Christchurch exports perform their top hits live on the Village Green.

A momentary altercation on a Christchurch primary school football field was the catalyst for a music partnership between James Reid and Hamish Gee that has spanned almost twenty years and produced one of New Zealand’s most successful bands.

Not only have The Feelers sold a quarter of a million albums, they can also boast seven number one singles and more radio airplay than any other New Zealand band or artist since radio statistics began in 1999.

Following up from their successful 2011 album, Hope Nature Forgives, the band are working hard on creating new material in 2015 and plan to release new singles later in the year.

Canterbury A&P Show Event Director Geoff Bone is looking forward to hosting one of New Zealand’s most-loved bands at the 153rd Show.

“It’s a testament to the success of the Canterbury A&P Show that we consistently attract bands of this calibre to play for Canterbury crowds. I’m sure we all know at least a couple of their songs and I personally can’t wait to take a few minutes to see them perform on Show Day.”

Support acts for The Feelers are due to be announced later in the month.

Tickets for the 2015 Canterbury A&P Show will be available from www.theshow.co.nz from 1 September 2015. 100,000 people are expected to attend the three-day Show from 11-13 November 2015.
