V8 Supercars launch ITM 500 Auckland event at CRC Speedshow
V8 Supercar drivers David
Reynolds, Andre Heimgartner and Dale Wood will feature on
the V8 Supercars ITM 500 Auckland display which launches at
this year’s CRC Speedshow held on the 18th and 19th of
July.
With less than 100 days until the ITM 500 Auckland event, held in Pukekohe on November 6th to 8th, the New Zealand event decided to launch its event at the country’s biggest automotive and motorsport show held in Auckland at the ASB Showgrounds.
The trio will also compete against each other in the Right Karts Celebrity Kart Challenge on Saturday taking them back to what started their successful racing careers, and with bragging rights on offer for the winner, it will certainly be a close race.
Ross Prevette, managing director for CRC Speedshow says: “It is great to have V8 Supercars and the ITM 500 team join us this year as it will be a fantastic opportunity for our visitors who are mad about V8’s. Having David [Reynolds], Dale [Wood] and Andre [Heimgartner] at the show is also great as it gives everyone a chance to meet them before the big race in Pukekohe later in the year. We can’t wait!”
Joining the V8 Supercars ITM 500 Auckland crew is New Zealand’s only V8 Supercars team, Super Black Racing, bringing drivers Andre Heimgartner, Simon Evans and Ant Pedersen, who all drive for the Wellsford-based outfit, to the event.
After taking an impressive eighth place at Townsville on the weekend, Heimgartner says he is looking forward to “heading home” again.
“Obviously I love coming back to New Zealand and this event will be cool as I get to meet more of our awesome local fans. We wouldn’t be doing this without their support so it will be great to see them before we come back for our home event in November,” says Heimgartner.
Show visitors are able to purchase discounted ITM 500 Auckland event tickets on the stand from 11am until 3pm each day, plus go in the draw to win a family pass worth $600.
There are plenty of other opportunities for CRC Speedshow visitors at the ITM 500 site as they can get their photo taken with the ITM 500 Auckland team to enter the draw for a host of spot prizes, with a few prizes going to those who are showing their support by wearing their favourite V8 Supercars team shirt, and meet the drivers at signing sessions on Saturday with Heimgartner onsite throughout the weekend.
