Connor Nestor is Back! And He’s Got a New Artist You May Have Never Even Heard About... Yet.

– HIGH HØØPS - SPYCC – LAPTOP SPEAKERS – BOYCRUSH -

Connor Nestor has recently arrived back to the land of the long white cloud, and he is busting right back into his next Red Bull Sound Select New Zealand tour, curating who he believes are some of the best artists in the country for some “fun little get-togethers.” Nestor will present us feel-good ‘dreambop’ artist HIGH HØØPS, new wave hip-hop phenomenon Spycc, and the new, mysterious internet artist Laptop Speakers at Ponsonby Social Club in Auckland on Friday May 22, and Havana in Wellington onSaturday May 23.

But with the addition of Martyn Pepperell's Cassette Deck Palace and Paddy Fred (Live) in Wellington, and the legendary Maximus Hush on the record selections in Auckland, Nestor’s Red Bull Sound Select tour will be anything but “little.” Not to mention his musical guest Boycrush - fans won’t want to miss this vibe.

“It's going to be groovy in the best sense of the word, like a 70s club experience,“ says Nestor. “People shouldn't be able to stand still. If you can imagine every individuals funnest night out combined together like a 100-cheese pizza and then served at these shows, that's sort of what it'll be like. Funky.“

Influenced by the dance culture of the 90s and currently living in its loose lifestyle vicariously through the internet, new Red Bull Sound Select artist Laptop Speakers has found a pocket of sound that keeps getting deeper.

“Laptop Speakers is probably my best internet friend,“ says Nestor. “While I was in LA he was in San Fran and we talked everyday sending new tunes, art, internet lolz and articles. Then he started sending me his music. I got to hear all these throwaway beats he was whipping up in a couple of hours. I heard something that I think is really special so I invited him to join us to help break new music. I'm very excited to be there for the first Laptop Speakers shows. Shimmy baby.“

Or in Laptop Speaker‘s words... “Feeling good, feeling great, can’t wait!“ Under sell and over deliver? Right on.

Spycc has been on Nestor’s roster since 2013 and has recently released a new track ‘Ain’t a Phase ft David Dallas‘ produced by Smokey Beatz Musik. Nestor has also been a fan of guest Boycrush since he was in 4th form at Avondale College, and Boycrush was in 7th form and played drums in the big bands. “His curly locks had me. He has continued to go down his own rabbit hole musically and is awesome live,“ comments Nestor.

So here is Connor Nestor’s invitation for fans to come and listen, dance and really just experience some tight live music made by guys who they will want to be friends with and probably will be. Anyone can RSVP on redbullsoundselect.com/events for free entry or pay $15 on the door until capacity. Let’s #BREAKMUSIC.
