Last Sunday (11th January) Serena Williams flaunted her curves in her very first TVC for lingerie brand, Berlei.
The 33-year-old has been an ambassador for Berlei’s range of Sports Bras since 2013, but this is the first time she has represented the brand in a TV commercial, which has recently launched on New Zealand TV screens nationwide.
Serena was extremely excited to shoot her first commercial with Berlei. “When Berlei approached me to be part of their sports bra campaign for 2015, I jumped at the chance. It’s such an exciting campaign, that I’m proud to be part of,’ Serena said.
Although the official partnership with Berlei commenced in 2013, Serena has worn Berlei bras for years.
Serena’s mum, Oracene, first discovered Berlei sports bras on one of her Australian trips and has been buying Serena the bras ever since. Every match Serena has ever played in the past 8 years has been in a Berlei bra!
The new Berlei campaign, ‘The Bounce Masters’, as the name implies, is all about the mastery of bounce, featuring the supreme bounce master, Serena Williams and Berlei, the master of reducing breast bounce!
The campaign is designed to educate women on the importance of wearing a sports bra, no matter what their breast size. Most women don't realise that exercise of any kind without proper support can lead to irreversible damage of the Coopers Ligaments, which causes breast tissue to sag - and no woman wants that!
“Berlei are delighted to have one of the world’s best female athlete’s (and a supreme master of bounce) representing Berlei. We feel incredibly proud that of all of the bras on offer around the world, she wears Berlei and does so by her own choice. Her passion for the brand is second to none!” Berlei’s Senior Marketing Manager, Kellie Warwick said.
Berlei produce the only sports bras on the market that have been tested and proven by the Australian Institute of Sport to reduce bounce by up to 60%. What many women don't realise is that an unsupported B cup can bounce up to 8cm during exercise and a DD cup can bounce up to 19cm. A fact that not only shocked Serena, but continues to shock women all over New Zealand.
Serena Williams in currently in Australia for the Australian Open while her sister Venus Williams is here in New Zealand for the ASB Classic.
