Auckland designer adorns international tennis star with champagne diamonds

Moët & Chandon, the exclusive champagne sponsor of the NZ Festival of Tennis, has partnered with New Zealand master jewellers, Naveya & Sloane to create the ultimate luxury gift to welcome tennis glamour girl Caroline Wozniacki to New Zealand. A timeless 5-carat champagne diamond bracelet has been immaculately crafted by the renowned jewellery house for Wozniacki, valued at $15,000.

Currently world number eight and former world number one, off court Wozniacki is renowned for her fashionable sense of style, dedication to success and is the face of ‘Adidas by Stella McCartney’. It will be Wozniacki’s first trip to New Zealand, where she will be competing in the ASB Classic tournament.

“We have partnered with Naveya & Sloane to create this champagne diamond bracelet as a symbol of achievement in sports. The collaboration was a natural fit for both luxury brands, Moët & Chandon has a long love affair of celebrating inspirational people of glamour, beauty and success and Wozniacki embodies this perfectly,” says Rai Banbury, Moët & Chandon senior brand manager.

Wozniacki’s Moët & Chandon champagne diamond bracelet is one of two bespoke pieces ever to be created in the world and will be gifted to the tennis star upon her arrival to New Zealand in January 2015. The second bracelet will be on display at the Moët & Chandon Champagne Lounge during the NZ Festival of Tennis (5-17 January). Public who visit the champagne lounge during the tennis festival will have the opportunity to win this $15,000 timeless piece, every time they purchase a flute of Moët & Chandon.

“With tradition and celebration at the heart, I’ve designed these bracelets to portray the magic of Moët & Chandon champagne. The bracelets feature 42 champagne diamonds which have been individually hand selected for their colour and beauty. I wanted to design a legendary piece that has the perfect balance between old world glamour and everyday luxury,” says Rachel Sloane, Naveya & Sloane.

The bespoke champagne diamond bracelets mark the launch of Naveya & Sloane’s new Tennis Bracelet Collection, which will launch early 2015. Made with 18 carat yellow gold and set with 5 carats of champagne diamonds, the bracelets contain a ‘Secret Spark’, a unique concept in which a precious diamond is set into the inside of the bracelet for only the wearer to see.

Wozniacki will be on court at the ASB Classic (5-10 January 2015) and the Moët & Chandon champagne diamond bracelet by Naveya & Sloane will be on display at the Moët & Chandon Champagne Lounge throughout the NZ Festival of Tennis (5-17 January 2015). Tickets can be purchased at www.festivaloftennis.co.nz
