Aston Rd Sessions 2014 finale featuring Estère and her new song 'L'oiseau dans l'etoile'
Aston Rd is proud to release the final of the Aston Rd Sessions 2014 featuring the inimitable Estère with a new song 'L'oiseau dans l'etoile' performed in French.
Filmed and recorded in front of a live audience Estère and her trusty companion Lola (mpc) play out ‘L'oiseau dans l'etoile’ which means 'the bird up in the stars'. The song is about the idea of there being a benevolent spirit (in the form of a bird) out there who is able to rectify a lot of what is wrong with the world and bring back equilibrium to the environment.

“L'oiseau dans l'etoile was my first endeavour to write in my father’s language- French! It actually came from a jam I was having with two friends, suddenly I was singing this line in French- "L'oiseau dans l'etoile voler voler voler" I really liked it so decided to work on a beat for it with Lola- es voila!" says Estère.
Estère is currently touring in the UK and Europe before returning to New Zealand to play a hearty series of summer festivals and will release her album in Europe with new Parisian taste-maker label Prospect in 2015.
Aston Rd Sessions will feature on Air New Zealand International flights between Dec 2014 and Feb 2015 and is available on the music and television channels.
About Aston Rd Sessions
Fans
of the artists applied for the opportunity to be a part of
an intimate and exclusive audience of fifty only at a secret
location which was revealed on the day of the show. The
venue was the Blue Barn Studio in Wellington, New Zealand
and offered the fans a unique opportunity to be in a working
recording studio.
The sessions were recorded and filmed in front of the live audience over three consecutive nights. Each night featured one local artist, Estere, Louis Baker, and Thomas Oliver, who performed a selection of new and previously released songs.
