Netball fans in the Waikato Bay of Plenty Zone are expected to snap up tickets to each of the Kia Magic’s six home games with tickets on sale from Monday morning.
Kia Magic are the most successful New Zealand side in the ANZ Championship having made the elusive Finals Series every year since the league’s inception in 2008. The 2015 season will feature two matches in Tauranga at ASB Stadium, Baypark, three matches at Claudelands Arena in Hamilton and one match at the Energy Events Centre in Rotorua.
The team will be without inspirational leader Casey Kopua after the 30 year old suffered a serious knee injury in October, ruling her out of all Netball for at least six months. Kopua is expected to remain a key part of the squad throughout the season and has committed to continuing rehabilitation as the injury continues to heal.
Kopua’s absence offers the opportunity for several other talented players in the squad to earn their spot in the starting seven. Retaining much of the same team who made up Kia Magic in 2014, the team will move into pre-season training intent on maintaining the momentum from last season and continuing to move forward under the tutelage of coach Julie Fitzgerald.
