“What a special night it was playing at Aston Rd Sessions. The audience was so warm in reception that it felt like we were all family” comments Baker.

Baker wrote Just Want To Thank You specifically for the 7 inch record in collaboration with the Red Bull Music Academy which is due out in September.

“When writing this song, I was musing on two ideas, the first was about how thankful I am to have such support in my life, and also how we as humans are pushed and pulled. How do we deal with mass media manipulation? Separatism and disconnectedness? Do we let these things govern us?” says Baker.

Following the acoustic recording of Just Want To Thank will be an alternate version of the song co-produced with New Zealand-born, Brisbane based soul-singer and producer Jordan Rakei who features on BV’s and keys. “It’s basically a big boom bap, soul-style track with heavy drums, synths, bass, guitars, and stacks of vocal layers” says Baker.

Baker will return to Australia, the UK and Europe in the coming weeks for a series of shows.

About Aston Rd Sessions –
The sessions were recorded and filmed infront of a live audience over three consecutive nights in the heart of Wellington city in May 2014. Each night featured one Aston Rd artist - Louis Baker, Estere and Thomas Oliver, who each performed a selection of new and previously released songs.

Fans applied for the opportunity to be part of an intimate and exclusive audience of only fifty at a secret location that was revealed on the day of the show. The venue was Blue Barn Studios in Newtown and offered fans the unique experience of watching a performance in a working studio environment. Preceeding the show, fans were treated to an open discussion between the artist and Music Journalist, Martyn Pepperell.

A total of nine videos will compliment the first series of the Aston Rd Sessions with a video being released every two weeks which began in June and will end in October.

Further sessions will be revealed in the coming weeks with each artist performing one cover.
