Gin Wigmore Announced as MTV’s Local Produce Act for June   14 Jun 2012

MTV is pleased to announce New Zealand–born singer songwriter Gin Wigmore as the Local Produce feature artist for June 2012. Gin Wigmore fans can now head to MTV’s on-air and online platforms for exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences and live performances.

In the fifth installation of Local Produce, Gin Wigmore treats her fans to a soulful, exclusive performance of three renowned tracks off her folk-rock, pop album, “Gravel and Wine”. MTV’s Local Produce also goes behind the scenes filming a “Day In The Life”, as Gin performs a live show in her adoptive town of Sydney, offering the audience a unique insight into her everyday life. Local fans can also gain a personal insight into Gin, beneath her arm-length tattoo and platinum blonde hair, as she partakes in a Tarot reading exclusively for MTV. A must-see for Gin Wigmore fans, Local Produce: Gin Wigmore premieres on MTV, (SKY channel 014), Friday June 29 at 7pm.

"There has been music, men, beautiful fans, beer, tears, more beer, early morning close-up cameras, small burnt sandwiches, Larry Emdur, Japanese food, outfit changes, tarot card reading with the promise of babies, and I even found out I have a line of solomon on my palm...rare apparently. Thankyou MTV, it’s been a blast." says Gin.

NZ Gold selling single “Black Sheep” is the razor sharp first taste of Gin’s sophomore and two times Platinum album “Gravel & Wine”. Having recently returned from a stint touring the United States, Gin has spent the past year writing and singing alongside the likes of Mark Lanagan (of The Screaming Trees), Matthew Sweet and Butch Walker, to name a few. Following the successes of her runaway first album, Gin’s latest work is set to bring an even better edge to her musical repertoire.

During the month of June, Gin Wigmore fans can also head to MTV’s Local Produce online hub for a variety of behind-the-scenes clips and video extras.
